Krista Cartlidge is settling into her role as Executive Director at MYTime Young Carers Charity.
Matthew Barker, Managing Director of barker and Chair of Trustees at MYTime Young Carers Charity, said: “We are delighted to welcome Krista on board.
“The charity has ambitious plans to develop and grow and Krista is definitely the right person to lead us in that direction.”
Krista recently joined the team with a wealth of experience and knowledge which included working in the education sector with young people for the past 13 years.
The Dorset-based charity provides invaluable breaks for young carers (age five to 18) at the charity’s outdoor activity centre at Worth Matravers in the Purbecks.
Krista said: “Having worked with young carers in a number of different schools I fully appreciate the incredible support these young people offer their families, which can often come at the detriment of their own physical and mental wellbeing.
“Being a young carer can have a significant effect on their academic achievements and can sadly result in isolation from their peers.
“It is absolutely vital that we support these loyal, hardworking and selfless young people to ensure that they are able to thrive in every area of their lives.
“I am hugely excited about my role and looking forward to developing our provision for young carers and working with the organisations already doing such valuable work in this area.
“It is a true honour to be given the opportunity to serve these incredible young people.”
